(A) The owner, occupant, or lessee of any premises in the village, shall not permit to accumulate upon such premises any garbage except as hereinafter provided.
(B) All garbage shall be placed in containers constructed in such manner as to be strong, water tight, rodent proof, and not easily corrodible. Such containers shall be fitted with two (2) handles or a bail, shall have a capacity of not more than thirty (30) gallons, and shall have tight covers, the same to be in place at all times except when garbage or refuse is being deposited therein or removed therefrom.
(C) In the alternative, garbage may be placed in containers of a type which can be automatically emptied by the vehicles used in the collection and removal of garbage. However, boxes and crates may be stacked. Odd articles, which the garbage collector’s equipment could reasonably be expected to handle, shall be bundled or otherwise altered so that two (2) persons could reasonably be expected to handle them.
(D) If one container is not sufficient to hold the quantity of garbage or refuse accumulated before collections, a sufficient number of containers shall be obtained. All containers shall be kept in a safe and sanitary condition at all times.
(E) Garbage shall be well drained of liquids and wrapped in paper or other material before being deposited in garbage containers.
(F) Each Mobile Home located within the Village shall be required to have a metal covered garbage container and such container shall be covered and flytight. (Ord. 216-B, 4-24-1986; amd. Ord. 899, 2-28-2020)
