Members of the village of Creve Coeur volunteer fire department shall be compensated in amounts determined by the Mayor and Village Trustees, as amended from time to time.
The fire chief shall receive such sums as the Mayor and Village Trustees shall determine, except when absent from the community, in which event, the fire chief’s compensation shall be paid to the officer designated to perform the fire chief’s work during his absence.
Between the first day and the tenth day of each month, the fire chief shall prepare and certify over his signature a list of all fires or fire calls which have occurred during that previous month, together with a list of all members of the fire department, showing the fires or fire calls to which said members responded; and also a final computation as to the amount due to each member during the previous month.
Said fire chief shall deliver said list so certified by him to the president between the first and the tenth day of each month, who shall present said certified list to the board of trustees for the audit and approval of the same at the first meeting of said president and board of trustees following the receipt of said list.
In the event of the absence or disability of the Fire Chief, the Assistant Fire Chief shall prepare and deliver said certified list to the Village President, and in the event of the absence or disability of the President, said certified list may be deposited with the Clerk for presentation to the Board of Trustees.
