4-1-35: SEPTIC TANKS:
Septic tanks shall not be located within fifty feet (50') of a well, cistern or pump suction line, nor within twenty five feet (25') of any lake, stream, or open ditch, nor within less than a foot above the high water line of any river, stream or lake.
All septic tanks shall be of at least five hundred (500) gallon capacity, and if serving any more than a four (4) bedroom unit, the minimum size shall be at least seven hundred fifty (750) gallons.
Metal tanks may be used if properly protected both inside and outside with a suitable protective coating. Such tanks shall be at least of 14-gauge metal, if a metal tank is used.
No septic tank shall be placed within less than ten feet (10') of any house dwelling or public building. (Ord. 267, 9-27-1961)
