4-1-33: SEWER CONSTRUCTION:
All sink drains, laundry drains, toilet and basement drains shall be connected to the sewer line, discharging to the septic tank. Grease traps, if used, shall likewise be discharged into the septic tank.
All sewer pipes from the house to the septic tank, from the septic tank to the distribution box and from the distribution box to the individual tile lines in the seepage beds or field, shall be of cast iron, vitrified clay or concrete pipe with bell and spigot (slip seal or Amvit type) joints, and no such line shall be built, laid or constructed closer than twenty five feet (25') of a well, and shall be laid on a slope of not less than one- eighth inch (1/8") per foot. All pipes inside the house or under any flooring, shall be of cast iron with leaded joints. No downspout nor surface drainage shall be permitted to be connected into this system. Copper piping may be used inside the house, where such piping is exposed. (Ord. 267, 9-27-1961)
