§ 71.06 STOP INTERSECTIONS.
   (A)   The City Commission shall determine and designate intersections where a particular hazard exists and determine whether vehicles shall stop at one or more entrances at any such stop, intersection or straight-aways and shall then recommend to the City Commission that an ordinance be passed authorizing the erection of a stop sign or signs at every such place where a stop is required.    (B)   Every sign erected pursuant to this section shall bear the word “STOP” in letters not less than six inches in height. Every stop sign shall be located as near as practicable, at the nearest point to where the streets intersect in cases of stop signs at intersections, provided however, that a stop sign shall not be erected nearer than three feet from the curb line in any street.    (C)   When stop signs are erected as herein provided, every driver of a vehicle shall stop the vehicle at such sign or at a clearly marked stop sign before entering the intersection or proceeding further on a straight-away except when directed to proceed by a Public Safety and Law Enforcement Authority officer.
