(A) There is created the office of City Clerk. The City Clerk shall execute bond in the amount of three thousand dollars ($3,000) with corporate surety and shall be compensated at a rate established by Council.
(B) The function of the office of City Clerk is to perform all of those duties usually incumbent upon an officer appointed to such office as imposed by law, and to assist the City Treasurer in the performance of the duties of that office as fixed by law or ordinance.
