§ 30.10 ELECTION PROCEDURE.
   (A)   Pursuant to the authority granted to the city by KRS 83A.050(1), the City Council does hereby prescribe that the election of city officers shall be under nonpartisan city election laws as provided in KRS 83A.045, 83A.170, 83A.175 and 83A.047, or as otherwise hereinafter required by law. The city reconfirms, reiterates, and re-adopts the nonpartisan method authorized by KRS Chapter 83A for the election of city officers.
   (B)   Pursuant to the authority granted to the city by KRS 83A.045(2)(b), the city forgoes conducting a nonpartisan primary election for the nomination of candidates to city office, regardless of the number of candidates running for each office. All candidates shall file their nomination papers with the Kenton County Clerk not later than the second Tuesday in August before the day fixed by KRS Chapter 118 for holding a regular election for the office, or as otherwise hereinafter required by law.
   (C)   The city shall pay the costs of city elections only if city elections are held at a time other than prescribed by KRS Chapters 116 to 121.
