The purpose of the Street Tree Commission shall include the following:
(a) To consider, investigate, make findings, reports, and recommendations upon all matters or questions regarding street or park trees.
(b) To hold regular and special meetings at which the subject of trees insofar as it relates to the City may be discussed by the members of the Commission, officers, personnel, Council committee of the City, and residents interested in the tree program.
(c) To disseminate news and information regarding the selection, planting, and maintenance of trees within the corporate limits.
(d) To establish the recommended species and varieties of Street Trees to be planted in the Tree Lawn and City parks.
(e) To implement an Arbor Day observance on an annual basis.
(f) To establish and maintain an inventory of City Street Trees and update the same on an annual basis.
