§ 34.18 PURPOSE.

   The purpose of this subchapter is to recognize the Good Will Hose Company and Fire Company No. 1 as the official fire companies of the borough, and to state additional authorized activities for firefighters for worker’s compensation purposes.

FIRE DEPARTMENT

§ 34.30 CREATION OF DEPARTMENT.

   The two volunteer fire companies now in service in the borough, namely Goodwill Hose Company and Cressona Fire Company No. 1, shall together form the Fire Department of the borough, hereinafter designated as the Fire Department.

§ 34.31 AUTHORITY OF THE BOROUGH FIRE CHIEF AND ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF.

   The Fire Department shall be under the supervision of an officer to be known as the Borough Fire Chief, and in the absence of the Borough Fire Chief his or her duties shall be performed by the Assistant Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall be responsible for naming an individual who shall be responsible in the event that both the Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief are absent for an extended period of time, and shall notify the borough in writing of the identity of this individual.
