(A) The Borough Enforcement Officer shall notify the owner of a licensed dog or cat by registered or certified mail, with return receipt, that the dog or cat is impounded and will be disposed of in five days if not claimed.
(B) Five days after the return receipt has been received, and the dog or cat has not been claimed, the dog or cat may be sold or destroyed in accordance with the 1982 Dog Law, being 47 P.S. §§ 1-101 et seq.
