The Mayor shall be the official head of the city government, and as such, shall perform the following duties:
(A) Keep himself or herself informed as to the city’s business;
(B) Preside over the meetings of the Board of Commissioners in accordance with the Board’s Rules of Procedure;
(C) Sign all contracts, ordinances, resolutions, franchises and all other documents as authorized by the Board, unless said authority has been delegated to the City Manager or other city employee;
(D) Appoint all committees and outline their duties, under the general direction of the Board;
(E) Make recommendations to the Board concerning the affairs of the city, as he or she deems necessary;
(F) Represent the city at ceremonies and other official occasions; and
(G) Perform other duties as authorized by the general statutes, the city charter and this code.
