It is the purpose of the provisions of this chapter to provide a just, equitable and practicable method to evaluate whether non-residential buildings or structures fail to meet minimum standards of maintenance, sanitation, and safety established by the city. The minimum standards address conditions that are dangerous and injurious to public health, safety, and welfare and identify circumstances under which a public necessity exists for the repair, closing, or demolition of such buildings or structures. The provisions of this chapter are cumulative with and in addition to any other remedy provided by law including the current editions of standard codes adopted by the City of Creedmoor.
