Whenever authorized signs are placed designating any street or part thereof, as a school zone,
drivers of motor vehicles using the street shall exercise, the greatest care for the protection of children. Violation of this section may constitute an infraction in accordance with § 10.99 of this Code and G.S. § 14-4.
