§ 153.071 MINIMUM COVERING OF UNDERGROUND FACILITIES.
   Cover shall be provided and maintained at least in the amount specified in the following table for minimum cover for the type of facility:
 
Type of Facility
Minimum Cover
Communication, cable, or video service lines
18 to 24 inches (0.6m, as determined by city)
Electric lines
30 inches (0.8m)
Gas or petroleum products
30 inches (0.8m)
Sanitary sewer, storm sewer, or drainage line
Sufficient cover to provide freeze protection
Water line
Sufficient cover to provide freeze protection
