§ 71.05 LOAD LIMIT.
   (A)   Load limits.
      (1)   Established. There is hereby established gross load limits on certain city streets. The term GROSS LOAD LIMIT shall mean the total weight of a vehicle and the load it is carrying. The specified streets and the load limits are hereby listed in division (B) below.
      (2)   Restrictions. It shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle upon any street where the operation is prohibited by this section and where such signs of prohibition are posted, except that a vehicle may be driven on such street for not more than the minimum distance necessary for the purpose of making deliveries or picking up loads.
      (3)   Exceptions. This section shall not include pickup trucks, trucks operated by the city maintenance and repairs on the street, or the operation of a vehicle owned by the U.S. government or state while on lawful business of these agencies.

   (B)   Load limit street designated. In accordance with the provisions of division (A) above, the following streets are hereby designated as load limit streets, to-wit: No vehicle or any combination of vehicles accompanied with pneumatic tires shall be operated upon the motor fuel surfaced streets in the city when the load weight of such vehicle or combination of vehicles on the road surface through any axle thereof exceeds 20,000 pounds.
