§ 50.08 UTILITY DEPOSITS.
   (A)   Residential. When any application is made for utility services in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, all applications or rented or leased property for which the service is requested shall deposit with the City Clerk the following amounts:
      (1)   Sewer: $75; and
      (2)   Water: $75.
   (B)   Commercial.
      (1)   In the case of a commercial or industrial user, the advanced payment for all utility deposits shall be an amount equal to one month of estimated charges for all utilities, based upon the history of similar establishments.
      (2)   Where the amount of the deposit provided in division (A) above is not sufficient to adequately protect the city, a greater amount than set forth above may be required, based upon the customer’s estimated bill for a customary billing period.
   (C)   Security for payment - no interest. The deposits made under the provisions of this chapter shall be held by the city as security for the payment of utility services used by the applicant upon the premises to which his application pertains and may be so applied when any default is made in the payment in the utilities bill in accordance with this chapter. The depositor shall earn no interest on the deposit.
