§ 32.006 ELIGIBILITY FOR APPOINTMENT TO BOARDS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND COMMITTEES AND GROUNDS FOR REMOVAL FROM SERVICE.
   (A)   To be eligible for appointment by Commission to any city boards, organizations, and committees, the person shall: a) be a resident of the City of Covington; b) be actively employed or doing business within the City of Covington; or c) have such a connection with the City of Covington through past residency, employment, business activity, or municipal activity and engagement that makes the person's interest in the city and its future obvious and the person's appointment compelling. If an ordinance otherwise specifies eligibility for appointment to the board, organization, or committee membership in its enabling provisions, those provisions shall be enforced. If Commission is considering more than one person for appointment to a position, Commission shall give preference to a person who is a resident.
   (B)   Any person who has been appointed and who is serving on any board, organization, or committee may be removed from service if they no longer meet the eligibility requirements set out in division (A).
