(A) The city hereby adopts and incorporates by reference into this code the provisions of KRS 45A.740, 45A.745, and 45A.750, authorizing an alternative procurement method for architectural and engineering services.
(B) Notwithstanding the provisions of the city’s local procurement policy, the city shall utilize the city’s capital project A and E procurement method process as set out in Covington Code of Ordinances § 35.100 et seq. for projects whose project costs exceed $50,000. The city may elect, but is not required to, utilize the process set out in Covington Code of Ordinances city’s capital project A and E procurement method for projects whose project costs are $50,000 or under.
(C) All provisions of the city’s local procurement policy not in conflict with these provisions shall continue to apply to projects utilizing the city’s capital project A and E procurement method.
(D) The city shall accept qualification statements from architectural and engineering firms engaged in the lawful practice of their professions. These qualification statements shall remain on file for one year from the date they are submitted to the city.
