§ 126.02 OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE REQUIRED.
   (A)   Every business that employs or contracts with person(s) who practice massage therapy or provide massages in exchange for money, whether such person is an employee of a business or contracts with the business as an independent contractor, shall obtain an occupational license from the Finance Department. After its initial issuance, the occupational license must be renewed by the Finance Department every year thereafter.
   (B)   No person shall practice massage therapy, hold himself or herself out to be a massage therapist, or provide massages in exchange for money, unless the person meets the educational and licensing requirements of KRS 309.358 and 309.361. Massage therapists or persons providing massages in exchange for money, whether employed by a business or acting as an independent contractor, must hold a valid license issued by the state’s Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy. Massage therapists or persons providing massages for money, who operate as independent contractors, must obtain an occupational license from the Finance Department before performing massage therapy services or providing massages in exchange for money in the city. After its initial issuance, the occupational license must be renewed by the Finance Department.
   (C)   All applicants for an occupational license under this subchapter must present his or her license issued by the state’s Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy upon application for or renewal of an occupational license.
