No person shall conduct a garage sale unless that person has obtained a permit issued by the Code Enforcement Department and paid any applicable fee to the Finance Department.
(A) Contents of permit. The person conducting the garage sale shall apply for a permit from the Code Enforcement Department and provide the following information:
(1) Name, address and phone number of applicant;
(2) Location of garage sale;
(3) Date(s) of garage sale; and
(4) The name of the owner of the premises of the garage sale.
(B) Neighborhood sponsored garage sales. A neighborhood association, a group of residents who take on problems or organize activities within a neighborhood, desiring to sponsor a neighborhood- wide yard sale involving ten or more persons or households, may apply for a single permit on behalf of those participating in the garage sale.
(C) Fees. The first permit obtained by an individual, neighborhood association or non-profit entity within a calendar year shall be at no cost. A $10 fee shall be paid to the Finance Department for each subsequent garage sale permit. A $50 fee shall be paid for each subsequent neighborhood or non-profit entity sponsored garage sale.
