§ 90.22 ANIMAL CARCASSES.
   (A)   The body or part of any animal to be used for human food shall not be transported through any streets, unless it is covered so as to protect it from insects, animals, dust and dirt.
   (B)   No person shall permit any dead horse, cow, sheep or other animal carcass to remain within the city longer than a reasonable time for removing or burying the animal carcass.
   (C)   (1)   When a dead animal is found in the city, the owner shall promptly and properly bury the animal when notified to do so by the county’s Public Works Department, the city’s Department of Public Improvements, the city’s Police Department, the state’s Transportation Cabinet, an animal control officer or enforcement agent.
      (2)   Where the owner is unknown or neglects or refuses, the county’s Public Works Department, the city’s Department of Public Improvements, the city’s Police Department, the state’s Transportation Cabinet, an animal control officer or enforcement agent, or their designee shall bury the animal.
      (3)   Refusal or neglect by the owner is punishable as provided in § 90.99 of this chapter.
