§ 90.20 WILD ANIMALS AND EXOTIC ANIMALS PROHIBITED.
   No person shall own wild animals and/or exotic animals within the jurisdictional boundaries of the city. This prohibition does not apply to zoological parks, properly licensed transient animal exhibits, circuses, licensed veterinarians or licensed caregivers to wild animals, colleges, universities, high schools, elementary schools, research institutions, persons owning birds of prey in compliance with all state and federal regulations or persons holding commercial or non-commercial captive wildlife permits issued by the commonwealth. Any person who owns, keeps or uses wild animals or exotic animals as part of his or her job duties at colleges, universities, high schools, elementary schools or research institutions may keep these animals at his or her residence on a temporary basis, but only after the employee and his or her department head (for colleges and universities), or superintendent (for high schools and elementary schools), or director (for research institutions) certify in writing on a form approved by the city the need for the employee to keep such animals at his or her residence on a temporary basis as part of his or her job duties.
