It is an affirmative defense to the charge of selling tobacco, tobacco related devices, electronic delivery devices, or nicotine or lobelia delivery products to a person under the age of 21 years in violation of this subchapter if the licensee or individual making the sale relied in good faith upon proof of age by one of the following:
(A) A valid driver's license or identification card issued by the State of Minnesota, another state, or province of Canada, and including the photograph and date of birth of the licensed person;
(B) A valid military identification card issued by the United States Department of Defense;
(C) A valid passport issued by the United States; or
(D) In the case of a foreign national, by a valid passport.
