6.04.140: DISEASED, INJURED OR DANGEROUS DOGS AT LARGE:
The animal control officer may, immediately and without giving any notice required under section 6.04.090 of this chapter, dispose of by destroying in a humane manner any dog found running at large which in the judgment of the animal control officer:
   A.   Displays symptoms of contagious disease; or
   B.   Displays serious physical injury or illness such that the animal control officer deems, in the officer's sole discretion, that it is necessary to destroy the dog to prevent further suffering; or
   C.   Displays vicious or aggressive behavior which poses an imminent risk of physical injury to any person and the dog cannot, in the discretion of the animal control officer, be taken into control for impoundment by reasonable humane methods. (Ord. 151 § 2, 1996)
