a. The Municipal Judge shall be subject to removal for cause by a vote or a majority of the Council; provided, however, that before such removal shall be declared or shall take effect, the Council shall cause due written notice of the charges against him or her to be served upon the Judge personally or by mail.
b. The Judge shall be afforded an opportunity to appear before Council and to be heard in his or her defense.
