§ 3-2-3: DEFINITIONS:
   The following words, terms, and phrases when used in this Chapter shall have the meaning ascribed to them in this Section except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
   CLUB: An incorporated organization organized under the laws of the State for civic, fraternal, social or business purposes, for intellectual improvement or for the promotion of sports or congressionally charted veterans’ organization which has been in existence for at least three (3) years, and which has more than fifty (50) members, has owned or rented a building or space in a building for more than one (1) year that is suitable and adequate for the accommodation of its members and is directed by a board of directors, executive committee or other similar body chosen by the members at a meeting held for that purpose, none of whose members, officers, agents or employees receive any profit from the distribution or sale of beverages to the members of the club or their guests, beyond a reasonable salary or wages fixed and voted each year by the governing body.
   ORGANIZATION: Any fraternal, religious, veterans’ or other nonprofit group which has at least fifteen (15) active members and has been in existence for the most recent three (3) years preceding the license application as a registered Minnesota nonprofit corporation or as an organization designated as exempt from the payment of income taxes by the Internal Revenue Code. In addition, the organization must not be in existence solely for the purpose of conducting gambling.
   ORGANIZATIONAL LICENSE: A license for lawful gambling issued by the State of Minnesota Gambling Control Board.
   PREMISES PERMIT: A permit issued to a licensed organization for the purpose of lawful gambling at a specific site within the City of Cottage Grove.
