The following words, terms, and phrases when used in this Chapter shall have the meaning ascribed to them in this Section except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
APPLICANT: An individual, partnership, corporation or other organization or entity that is applying for licensure, including any individuals who hold an interest in that organization.
LICENSEE: An individual, partnership, corporation or other organization or entity that is licensed, including any individuals who hold an interest in that organization.
MASSAGE THERAPIST: An individual who practices therapeutic massage.
PERSON: An individual, partnership, corporation or other organization or entity.
STANDARDS OF PRACTICE: Standards of Practice published by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE: The systematic manual manipulation of soft tissue to enhance health and well-being.
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE BUSINESS: A business that offers therapeutic massage services.
