(A) Let it be known to all persons that it is the public policy of the city to promote the opportunity for full participation by minority and women’s business enterprises, hereinafter referred to as MBE/WBE in all housing and community development programs receiving funds from the Department of Community and Economic Development.
(B) All contractors and/or bidders awarded contracts and/or bids let by the city must meet all the requirements of the above referenced plan; which is attached to the resolution codified herein and incorporated herein by reference.
(C) The adoption of the MBE/WBE Plan, as noted, does hereby authorize the city and/or the housing authority of the county to reject all bids contracts for work funded by the Department of Community and Economic Development which do not conform to the requirements as noted in the MBE/WBE Plan.
(D) Publicity will at a minimum include, but not be limited to:
(1) The printing and publicizing of this section and other applicable MBE/WBE information through the local media and community contacts; or
(2) Any other means which will bring to the attention of those affected the knowledge of their respective responsibilities and rights concerning the Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Plan.
