The terms of the water committee shall be staggered as follows: the term of the first members shall be that one of the three (3) member's term shall expire after the third year of service and thereupon each consecutive member's term shall expire the following fourth and fifth year. Thereafter each member of the water committee shall be appointed to serve for a term of five (5) years. Term(s) of the water committee shall begin on or before January 1 of each year. The town council may remove any member of the water committee for cause and after a public hearing, if one is requested. Vacancies shall be promptly filled in the same manner as the original appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term. The term for the council member shall be called yearly, upon the mayor and town council discretion. (Ord. 00-01, 2-1-2000)
