A. Authorized Use: All fire hydrants shall be under the control of, and shall be kept in repair by, the town. In case of a fire, the fire department and such others as the town shall authorize, shall have free access to such hydrants. No unauthorized person shall open or operate any fire hydrant, or attempt to draw water therefrom, or obstruct the approach thereto.
B. Penalty For Damaging Fire Hydrant: Any person who shall wilfully or carelessly operate a vehicle against a fire hydrant, or otherwise wilfully damage the same, or without authority draw or attempt to draw water therefrom, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof may be punished by a fine not to exceed two hundred ninety nine dollars ($299.00). Such person shall be liable for all damages caused to said fire hydrant. (Ord. 11-02, 11-1-2011)
