3-10-24: PENALTY FOR EXERCISING RIGHTS WITHOUT FRANCHISE:
In addition to any other remedies that the city may have, any person, firm or corporation exercising any right or privilege for which a franchise is required, without possessing a valid and existing franchise therefor, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which said person, firm or corporation exercises any privilege for which a franchise is required, without possessing a valid and existing franchise therefor, and shall be punishable therefor as provided for in this chapter.
