The salary of each Council member is three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00) per month. The compensation shall be adjusted annually based on an amount equivalent to the percentage change in the CPI for the current year over the CPI index amount for the prior year. For the purposes of this section, CPI shall mean the Consumer Price Index, U.S. City Average, Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, all items (base index years 1982-84 = 100).
