69.10 PARKING PROHIBITED.
No one shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a peace officer or traffic control device, in any of the following places:
1.   Crosswalk. On a crosswalk.
2.   Center Parkway. On the center parkway or divided area of any street.
3.   Mailboxes. Within 20 feet on either side of a mailbox which is so placed and so equipped as to permit the depositing of mail from vehicles from the roadway.
4.   Sidewalks. On or across a sidewalk.
5.   Driveway. In front of a public or private driveway.
6.   Intersection. Within an intersection or within 10 feet of an intersection of any street or alley.
7.   Fire Hydrant. Within five feet of a fire hydrant.
8.   Stop Sign or Signal. Within 10 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop or yield sign, or traffic control signal located at the side of a roadway.
9.   Railroad Crossing. Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing, except when parked parallel with such rail and not exhibiting a red light.
10.   Fire Station. Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to a fire station and on the side opposite the entrance to any fire station within 75 feet of said entrance when properly posted.
11.   Excavations. Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when such stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.
12.   Double Parking. On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of the street.
13.   Hazardous Locations. When, because of restricted visibility or when standing or parked vehicles would constitute a hazard to moving traffic, or when other traffic conditions require, the Council may cause curbs to be painted yellow color and erect no parking or standing signs.
14.   Churches, Nursing Homes and Other Buildings. A space of 50 feet is hereby reserved at the side of the street of any theater, auditorium, hotel having more than 25 sleeping rooms, hospital, nursing home, taxicab stand, bus depot, church or other building where large assemblages of people are being held, within which space, when clearly marked as such, no motor vehicle shall be left standing, parked, or stopped except in taking on or discharging passengers or freight, and then only for such length of time necessary for such purpose.
15.   Alleys. No person shall park a vehicle within an alley in such a manner or under such conditions as to leave available less than 10 feet of width for the free movement of traffic, and no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within an alley in such a position as to block the driveway entrance to any abutting property. The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to a vehicle parked in any alley which is 18 feet wide or less; provided such vehicle is parked to deliver goods or services.
16.   Curb Cut/Ramps. In front of a curb cut or ramp which is located on public or private property in a manner which blocks access to the curb cut or ramp.
17.   Non-Hard Surface. No person shall stand, stop or park any motor vehicle on the area of the public way not covered by sidewalk and lying between the lot line and the curb.
18.   In More Than One Space. In any designated parking space so that any part of the vehicle occupies more than one such space or protrudes beyond the markings designating such space.
19.   Signage. At any place where official signs prohibit stopping or parking.
20.   Two-Hour Zone. Parking in a parking space for more than two hours which has been designated as a maximum two-hour parking zone.
21.   Permit Required. Parking in a space designated as permit parking only without displaying a valid permit.
22.   Overnight Parking. Parking on all streets between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
23.   Fire Lanes. No person shall stop, stand, park a vehicle, place or keep any obstruction in a designated fire lane in accordance with Section 69.17.

24.   Town Center Ramp. Parking for more than four continuous hours without a permit.

25.   Iowa River Landing West Parking Structure. Parking for more than four continuous hours without a permit.
26.   Coralville Transit Intermodal Facility. Parking for more than four continuous hours on the top floor without a permit.
27.   Intermodal Facility Surface Lot. Parking for more than four continuous hours on the Intermodal Facility Surface Lot without a permit.
