The owner of any unfinished structure existing prior to the adoption of this chapter for which there is no longer a valid building permit, shall obtain a new building permit within thirty (30) days of receipt of written notification by the building official. The new building permit shall be considered as an extension and shall be valid for no more than ninety (90) days. For cause, one (1) additional ninety (90) day extension may be allowed by the building official.
