SECTION 2.09. Vacancies in Council.
   Be it further enacted, that a vacancy shall exist if a councilman resigns, dies, moves his residence from the city, has been continuously disabled for a period of six (6) months so as to prevent him from discharging the duties of his office, is elected to any other elective public office or accepts any municipal office or employment with the city of Cookeville, or is convicted of malfeasance or misfeasance in office, a felony, a violation of this charter, or a violation of the election laws of the state. If a vacancy occurs, the remaining council members shall appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of the unexpired term. [As amended by Priv. Acts 1967, ch. 485, § 3; and replaced by Priv.
