Be it further enacted, that councilmen shall be qualified electors of the city and shall resign from any municipal office or employment with the city of Cookeville and from any elective public office held in any level of government prior to induction in office as a councilman. If a councilman shall cease to possess any of these qualifications or shall be convicted of crime involving moral turpitude, his office shall immediately become vacant. [As amended by Priv.
