The application hereinabove referred to shall be submitted by the city clerk to the mayor and city council at the next meeting of said council after the date said application is filed. If the application gives the information required in § 9-605 the city council shall, by order at the same meeting, direct the license applied for to be issued to the applicant for the period hereinafter set forth, and the city clerk shall issue same immediately, upon receipt of the license fee hereinafter stipulated.
