§ 34.17 DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
   (A)   Pursuant to IC 36-7-12-4, the Council finds it necessary to create a body with the powers to finance economic development or pollution control facilities under the Act (IC 36-7-12), and hereby establishes the Department of Economic Development (the “Department”). The Department is established to exercise the powers set forth in the Act or otherwise granted by law.
   (B)   Pursuant to IC 36-7-12-7, the Department will be controlled by a board of three members to be known as the City Economic Development Commission (the “Commission”), consisting of three members to be appointed by the Mayor, one of such members to be nominated by the Council, one of such members to be selected by the Mayor, and one of such members to be nominated by the County Council.
