For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
FIREARM. Any weapon or device from which is propelled any missile, projectile, bullet, shot, pellet or other mass by means of explosives. Not included within this definition are weapons whose means of propulsion are compressed air or gas, or by means of springs, levers, or other mechanical devices.
