§ 91.07  MARKERS OR MEMORIALS.
   (A)   All markers and memorials must be comprised of stone or other equally durable composition and shall face the same direction as the markers and memorials around them.
   (B)   The digging of all foundations shall be done by the sexton. Foundations for monuments shall be 12 inches thick, with corner piers, length to be 42 inches. Foundations for headstones shall be six inches deep, 42 inches long and 18 inches in width.
   (C)   The certificate of title for burial rights holder or heirs shall pay for the cost of the foundation to the township.
   (D)   Foundations will be done by the sexton or someone appointed by the sexton, when time and weather permit.
   (E)   No one shall move a headstone without the permission of the sexton.
   (F)   Any mausoleums must be approved by the sexton and the Township Board.
   (G)   All monuments/headstones shall not cover any more than the cement foundation.
   (H)   Should any monument or memorial (including any monument or memorial that was in place before this chapter became effective) become unsightly, broken, moved off its proper site, dilapidated or a safety hazard, the Township Board shall have the right, at the expense of the owner of the cemetery plot, to correct the condition or remove the same. The township shall make reasonable attempts to contact the owner of the cemetery plot prior to any such work beginning.
   (I)   The maintenance repair and upkeep of a cemetery memorial, marker, urn or similar item is the responsibility of the heirs or family of the person buried at that location. The township has no responsibility or liability regarding the repair, maintenance or upkeep regarding any such marker, memorial, urn or similar item.
   (J)   All contractors shall abide by rules contained herein, including, but not limited to, the following.
      (1)   When a monument is placed, planking necessary to protect the turf must be provided. Materials and equipment are to be removed immediately upon completion of work.
      (2)   The completed work of memorial contractors is subject to the approval of the sexton and if unsatisfactory, may be removed by the cemetery personnel with notice to the contractor and site owner.
      (3)   No monument shall be delivered to the cemetery until the sexton or Clerk has been notified by the firm requesting a foundation that the foundation has been installed. Cemetery personnel shall not place monuments/headstones.
      (4)   Letter cutters, persons or firms who engage in the business of cleaning memorials, and other persons or firms must contact cemetery personnel or the sexton before any work in the cemetery begins.
