Below is a list of acronyms (other than zoning districts) and their meanings found throughout the chapter.

BFE. Base flood elevation.

DUA. Dwelling units per acre.

G.S. North Carolina General Statute.

HOA. Homeowners Association.

N.C. North Carolina.

NCDENR. North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

NCDOT or DOT. North Carolina Department of Transportation.

ROW. Right-of-way.

S.R. Secondary road in the North Carolina secondary road system.

U.S. United States of America.
