§ 92.23 INSPECTION OF BUILDINGS AND PREMISES.
   (A)   The Volunteer Fire Department under the direction of the Fire Chief is hereby authorized and empowered to make an inspection of all businesses and commercial structures situated within the town for the purpose of determining if there exists any fire hazards within the structures.
   (B)   In the event upon the inspection there is found to exist within the business or commercial structure a condition that within the opinion of the members of the Volunteer Fire Department making the inspection constitutes a fire hazard, the fire hazard shall be reduced to writing by the inspectors and a copy of the same delivered to the occupants of the structure and owner of the structure if the owner can be found. In the event the building is vacant the fire hazard shall be reduced to writing and either delivered to or mailed to the owner of the building. The owner of the building shall be deemed notified of the fire hazard upon the same being reduced to writing and placed in the United States Mail to the owner at the address of the owner shown on the tax records of the town.
   (C)   Upon notice being received of the fire hazards by the occupant or owner as hereinabove provided, the occupant or owner shall have 30 days within which to eliminate or correct the fire hazard as shown to exist on the notice.
