The City Council of the City of Columbus finds it necessary to provide regulations for platting and subdivision of property within the City so that new subdivisions will be in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance and contribute to a well planned community environment by providing adequate public services, parks, trails, streets and highways. All subdivisions platted within the jurisdiction of the City of Columbus shall fully comply with the regulations set forth in this Chapter of the City Code. The provisions of this Chapter shall be considered the minimum requirements adopted for the protection of the public health, safety, and general welfare.
