15.24.070 Issuance and effect of emergency orders.
   A.   Whenever the chief code enforcement officer finds that an emergency exists which requires immediate action to protect the public health and safety, he may, without notice or hearing, issue an order reciting the existence of such an emergency and requiring that such action be taken as he deems necessary to meet the emergency. Notwithstanding the other sections of this chapter, such order shall be effective immediately. Any person to whom such an order is directed shall comply therewith immediately, but upon petition to such inspector shall be afforded a hearing within ten days in the manner provided in Section 15.24.040. After such hearing, depending upon the finding as to whether the sections of this chapter have been complied with, the board of public works and safety shall continue such order in effect or modify it or revoke it.
   B.   Emergency action concerning unsafe buildings or premises shall be taken pursuant to Indiana Code, 36-7-9-9. (Prior code § 11-7)
