A. The need to maintain high quality wastewater, meet the state and federal standards all the while providing continued operational and maintenance costs and providing for future projects and system improvements necessitates a modification of the wastewater rates and service fees.
B. The new wastewater rate schedule is as follows:
There shall be a fixed monthly rate, deemed a base charge, that is based upon the size of the water meter supplying water to any user of the sewer service of Columbus city utilities:

* In the instances where sewer volumetric usage is separately metered and is significantly different from drinking water volumetric usage or where a water meter size is not available, the utility will establish an equivalent water meter size to be used in the monthly sewer base charge. The equivalent water meter size will be based upon the metered or expected sewer volumetric usage for the customer.
