2.20.010 First-class patrolman.
   A.   There is now created the rank of first-class patrolman for the police department. A "first-class patrolman" shall be defined as a policeman with twenty years of active service as a regular permanent policeman for the city. A patrolman upon acquiring twenty years of active service with the police department shall automatically be promoted to the rank of first-class patrolman. The sole criterion for this promotion shall be the acquisition of twenty years of active service. This promotion shall not include any increase in salary nor any change in job requirements, authority, responsibilities or description.
   B.   A first-class patrolman must work a full year beyond his twenty years active service with the police department before he is entitled to additional pay.
   C.   This section in no way alters or vacates any rights a policeman may have under the Indiana Code. (Prior code § 24-1)
