9.24.090 City contracts.
   Every contract to which the city or any of its political or civil subdivisions is a party, including franchises granted to the utility service board of the city, shall contain a provision requiring the contractor and his subcontractors not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment who is to be employed in the performance of such contract with respect to his or her hire, tenure, terms, conditions or privileges of employment or any matter directly or indirectly related to employment because of his or her race, religion, color, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or status as veteran. Breach of this covenant may be considered a material breach of the contract.
