Commercial space was built to support the commons' public space and to support the downtown development goals promulgated by the Columbus redevelopment commission. The commons board may lease the spaces individually or enter a master lease for all commercial space, to transfer individual space leasing and tenant management to a master lessee. If master lease, the commons board shall direct the lessee to pursue and achieve a tenant mix which promotes downtown development goals, especially for the arts and entertainment district.
