6.08.150 Animals in motor vehicles or kept in confined spaces.
   A.   It shall be unlawful for any person to place or confine or allow any animal to be confined in such a manner that it must remain in a motor vehicle or confined space under such conditions for such periods of time as may cause suffering or endanger the health or well-being of the animal due to extreme temperatures or lack of food and water.
   B.   It shall be unlawful for any animal to ride attached to the exterior of any vehicle on public streets, highways, and/or rights-of-ways. It shall be unlawful for any animal in the bed of a pickup truck on public streets, highways, and/or rights-of-ways unless the animal is securely caged or securely restrained pursuant to Animal Care Services requirements and protected from the environment or unless the bed of the pickup truck or open-air vehicle is enclosed with a camper shell or other device which has appropriate and sufficient ventilation.
