It shall be the purpose of the technical advisory committee to serve as a technical advisory resource to the city and the appropriate boards and authorities. The technical advisory committee shall provide input and expertise to the city and make recommendations to the city regarding its technical needs, issues and planning on an as needed basis as matters may be brought before them. Such matters may include, but not be limited to: review of technical specifications of hardware and software purchases, recommendations of technology types and vendors to be considered for RFP processes, external oversight of expansion of the city's fiber optic communication network(s), policy and procedure handling for broadband enablement for business and residents of the city of Columbus.
